Even the cutest looking feral urban cat is a disease-ridden vermin.

Glup!

Not the cats fault… those at home are not vermin…

Cats at home are not feral. We have one. I had the kids go pick it up as a surprise for SWMBO's birthday.

It's not a fox, bear, or coyote's fault we encroached on its habitat, but I'm still not going to let it gnaw on my leg.

I am in support for civil punishment on people who get pets, change their mind, and then just chuck them out the door.

I live in New Zealand, which had no terrestrial mammals prior to human habitation c1000AD, and no mammalian carnivores prior to the arrival of European settlers with their cats, dogs, ferrets, stoats, weasels, rats and mice. (Maori brought over kiore (a mostly vegetarian rat that is now endangered) and Kure (a small dog that never became an issue and is now extinct (possibly leaving DNA traces in existing NZ dog populations). Our birds evolved to be largely flightless or poor fliers, ground nesting, and in other respects very poorly adapted to predation by mammals. Cats are devastating for our bird (and lizard and invertebrate) populations. I like cats but they're very destructive.

Wargames content – Cataphracts, catapults, Tiger tanks, Panther tanks . . . :~)

Cheers,
John
