Please see link for another Thirty Years'War refight using the Twilight of Divine Right rules and Baccus 6mm figures – this time, it is the Crossing of the Lech (or the Battle of Rain).

A very nice review of an very interesting battle. We've used these rules for several TYW and ECW battles and are still adjusting to the morale rather than fighting mechanisms. You mentioned the "Stacking" of support units rather than using the historical formations. This unbalanced our White Mountain game and I wondered how y'all handled it. |

Great work on the figures. Can really make out detail. |

Thanks very much everyone, appreciate the kind words. @Shagnasty: in the comments section of the Breitenfeld post, there are a couple of clarifications from Nick which, although they don't rule out the deep stack of support units, they do make them somewhat less useful – so that may change my tactics in future. I have done White Mountain a few times before, although it took a little while to get it right: link On balance, victory is going to come from either a well-supported attack or finding a flank (those things are the ones which 'stack the deck' the most, usually). @Grattan54 – you are too kind. The detail of the Baccus figures comes through – I am not much of a painter, but sometimes the details pop out nicely through the sculpting. |
