I am looking for a campaign system as stated above. I have legends of dead mans hand which gives great ideas but doesn't set up battles for you.
Saga age of wolf gave you a grid based on player disposition and you rolled and got your scenario. Platoon Forward you roll based on offense or defense and get your scenario.
Anyone aware of something like that?

Thanks

Joe

Check out Dracula's America.

What do you want a campaign system to do?

Here is some Boot Hill stuff, if it is of any use to you.

I imagine D&D campaign books would be easy enough to modify.

"What A Cowboy" from Too Fat Lardies has a campaign system in the rules.

2HourWargames made Six Gun Sound..

Apparently they sold it on to Rebel Minis now. Their games have a campaign system included.

Pendekar beat me to it. Like most of the 2HW rule sets, Six Gun Sound has rpg-lite elements and is based around each player having a 'star' figure/character. The original version had a perfectly workable campaign system to link together your star's encounters. Which encounters/scenarios your star had was in turn biased towards their profession (sheriff, outlaw, cowboy, etc.) The updated 'Blaze of Glory' version had a greatly expanded system based on the same framework (I think there's been another update since by/for Rebel Minis, but I don't have that).

I appreciate all the suggestions. I actually have the first edition of boot hill and it gives great ideas but doesn't give me actual scenarios. Legends of dead mans hand has great rules for character progression and recovery from wounds. What it doesn't have are a plethora of various scenarios that I can play as part of a campaign.
For example your outlaw gang has lost two fights. The cattle rustlers are 1-1. I roll a d20 and on a 8,9 they ambush the rustlers using scenario 6.
Do any of the above rulesets have something like that? I find I am stumped for the actual scenarios unless it is town fight or road ambush.
Thanks
Joe

"Necromunda" might have a system that you could use for scenarios that link to a campaign.

Joe,

There are supplements to Boot Hill that are scenarios. There is one about an election in a town that has factions fighting each other and another that is a range war.

Joe, I was not suggesting the rules, I was suggesting the scenario books to the right of the page.

Thanks again for the suggestions. 79, I apologize; I didn't scroll over there. The lost conquistador mine looks interesting. Not a roll em up but could give me some ideas.
Thank you all for the suggestions! I appreciate it.

Hi Joe. I will check…but believe I have some campaign stuff. Email me at DJMaritime42@gmail.com

Gunfight has an excellent campaign system.

Joe Legan30 Aug 2024 4:23 p.m. PST

Skrap,
Thank you for your reply. Do you roll up the scenario given certain parameters?
What do you like about it? I found next to nothing about the rules.

Skrapwelder31 Aug 2024 1:57 p.m. PST

There are about a dozen or more pre generated scenarios that represent typical Wild West fight scenes in the book. There are in-between scenario activities as well. Buying and selling kinds of stuff.

Each player represents a faction. Each faction has a rating, positive or negative, with every other faction in play that is a modifier for which side they end up on when it comes time to play.

Looks like the best place to get the rules is on wargames vault:

Skrap, that actually sounds really good as well. At $20 USD a little pricey for a campaign system. Will wait for a sale and check them out.
Thanks
