My Waterloo project continues. Liam recently completed a battery of Foot Artillery of the Old Guard. I've put these on my Waterloo model just North of La Belle Alliance; these join two other batteries in the same area.

Having got the section out of its box, I have also photographed other figures in the same area. These show infantry battalions of the Old Guard coming forward, the Imperial headquarters and casualties moving to the rear. I will be adding Decoster's farm to the south later this week.

I'm very grateful to Liam for these terrific conversions which are mostly Zvezda Line Artillery with a head swap and some Hagen.

Wonderful stuff! And such a great project.

As always, wow! These, and your photos, surpass anything I've ever seen in a museum. The projection of order and chaos combined is unbelievable.

An industrial production once again by the good Captain.

Lots going on but the most poignant model for me is Francesco's wounded cuirassier being taken by his comrade to the rear.

Best wishes,

Chris

By all accounts that was all too common at Waterloo, although we only read of it on the Allied side. Several men "employed" in carrying a wounded comrade to the rear and slow to return. Significantly weakening the firing line for many a unit.

Let me second the comments about the modelling that has gone into this scenery. Those Guard gunners did not half so impressive on my desktop. In James' hands they are transformed. Not to mention his father's work on the buildings (I think the research and then execution is just incredible, you really do have to see the real thing)

Thanks for all your kind comments. Decoster's farm will follow, and then La Haye Farm (not to be confused with La Haye Sainte).
