While watching a "Barnwood Builders" episode on TV, two of the crew visited the Campus Martius Museum of the Northwest Territory in Marietta, Ohio. I thought it was an interesting place as the museum building is actually built around the home of Rufus Putnam, the first surveyor-general of the US. And inside the house is a small scale replica of the stockade. The site was originally the location of the stockade, built by the Ohio Company between 1788 and 1791, to house and protect the members of the company during the Ohio Indian Wars of 1790 to 1794.

Both their police and fire departments have a stockade on their patch.

You never know what kind of cool stuff you are going to find in small museums.
