We return to the same table for the third scenario of our short campaign for Chain of Command set in Burma in 1944. The British attempt to drive the Japanese off the spine of the ridge so the tanks can cross. Full AAR of the game here: Nunshigum Ridge scenario 3

Awesome AAR, as always. Better than movie.

Re scenario: Sometimes it is just string of bad luck.

That's what playtesting is for, thanks for the effort.
To get back to what happened in that game, certainly bad luck played an important part. But the many restrictions imposed by the terrain on the Allies' side facilitate, IMO, such happenings.
If I may make a suggestion, perhaps you could lift the restrictions on the fire angle of the tank, and assume the crew is not overwhelmed by the difficulty of the progression, but can act normally. This would not seem unbalanced in light of what happened to that Lee in your last game. Otherwise, if nothing's to change, perhaps add a few support points so that mortar support is available instead of the pre-game barrage?
And as it is customary with your reports, congratulations on the models and miniatures, terrain, photographs and last but not least the narration.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, we're certainly thinking along those lines. I've done a bit more research around the action and it seems I may have been a bit too heavy handed with the restrictions on the tanks. I don't want to give them free rein but need to strike a balance. We're also giving some thought to the terrain. While there was not a great deal of foliage on the ridge it was not completely bare ground and we are thinking that infantry who are stationary there gain light cover. Some additional supporting fire is not inappropriate either as there were tanks back down on the Imphal plain providing supporting fire from distance, so we could factor something in to represent this.

Really appreciate all your comments and feedback, thanks for following along with us with this one.
