You were asked – TMP link

Slingshot issue 347 included an introductory article to wargaming the Early Medieval period ("Dark Ages"). The author recommended several rules, and our readers nominated more. Which is your preference?

And in the final round of voting:

27% said "Lion Rampant (Osprey)"
17% said "De Bellis Antiquitatis"
10% said "Saga"

I have enjoyed "Soldiers of God"

Lion Rampant for me. Not just for medievals, but Biblicals and ancients too. Give me enough time, and I'll use them for the Italian Wars!

We use Lion Rampant a lot. Gives a pretty bloody and quick game.

Unfortunately it is out of print and can't be printed again, as the author had a computer crash and lost all his data.

The issue is the cards, not the rule book
