Hi guys These guys are ready for their undercoat, a platoon worth plus some assets, just need to add a 3inch mortar team and some ammo guys for the vickers, I ordered a box of Revell Brit paras as I need NCOs with Sten Mk 2 or 3s, that arrived today and I added them in, I'm thinking I'll undercoat in grey for this project. link

You could maybe use some beret guys. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they got their "Red Devil" nickname there! |

I can see a few in the traditional beret in your images, but, in action, bound to think common sense would dictate the helmet. Whatever the nickname, I do wonder how many Germans ever saw a "red" beret coming at them? Only in the last 18 months did I learn that Greenstuff sticks to plastic as well as it does to metal (and is invaluable for strengthening bonds as well as sculpting) |

Yes, the green stuff/superglue sandwich is very handy. |

As with many military nickname stories, especially those said to come from the enemy, the origin of British parachute troops being dubbed 'red devils'is obscure. Red berets seems unlikely. Is the image of uniforms coated with red Tunisian dust or mud less so? |
