The match is unremarkable, except to highlight long lost suburban tidiness now replaced with a more relaxed attitude towards foliage…"

I liked Bill N's link, as it is a topic much overlooked and much info there. The evacuations well after Dunkirk and still quite sizeable.

'Dunkirk' is not a helpful reference as St Valery en Caux is a 100 miles or so south of Dunkirk. This was indicative of a growing gap between allied forces retreating on Dunkirk, and French 10me Armée, to which 51st(Highland) Div was attached, falling back southwest through Picardy toward ports on the Normandy coast, with German armoured formations advancing on their open flank.
