The leader of Russia's Chechnya region, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a video on Saturday of himself driving a Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab Cybertruck with what looked like a machinegun mounted on top, saying he would send it to the Ukraine conflict zone…

Not many EV chargers in the Ukraine conflict zone?

"saying he would send it to the Ukraine conflict zone…"

Well, it's good that he's sending it into the middle of nowhere for when the battery catches fire instead of parking it in his garage… ;-)

Fool. You don't take a rich man's vehicle and turn it into a poor man's weapon system. OTOH, it's nice to know that our elites aren't the only decadent ones.

That's like the gold plated AK-47s you see captured from drug lords.

It's pleasing to see that even blood thirsty tyrants are cognisant of climate change……

There are a couple of those around town here. But no weapons mounted on them … yet …

Not exactly a stealth weapons platform, is it? grin

Good on Kadyrov although I strongly doubt that posturing twit gets personally within 100 miles of anything with hostile intent.

I'm sure the Chechnyan people appreciate a $100,000 USD 9,000+ pound truck that looks like an institutional trash can and might get 300 miles at 72 F on level ground before coming to a stop as I doubt the front lines have a plethora of Tesla supercharge stations.

Perhaps the plan is to issue it to the Chechnyan troops deployed to the theatre – they seem to be usually located quite some distance from the front lines, so maybe finding a charging station might be easier for them. That said, it might need to be re-charged a number of times on the way from Grozny to western Russia.

Kadyrov might also have a few of those in his stash.

The big advantage is that they are dam quiet.

That would be a plus for most EVs …

Saw one today when I was on the road. But no external weapons were mounted in the bed as far as I could see …
