Checking up on John Hardin (1753-1792) today. Hardin was known as "The Indian Killer"--a celebrated frontier marksman who fought pretty much straight through from Lord Dunmore's War to his death at the hands of the Shawnee in 1792, including serving the Morgan's Rifles at Saratoga. But I have an account which says that, being wounded by a musket ball as a ensign in Lord Dunmore's War, he continued the campaign on crutches! If anyone knows of a 25-28mm "armed frontiersman on crutches" figure, can you point me toward it? I have to fit him into my 28mm horse & musket forces somewhere!

You might not be a war gamer if….
…you don't obsess over finding a figure on crutches from Lord Dunmore's War.

Don't worry, I'm a fellow wargame, so I respect you for it!

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you though.

Could you work with this?

Heroforge allows for a crutch. Looks like a pipe/cane. You could make him look colonial.

But that's pricey.

I would simply take my favorite pose of "frontiersman", whether in hunting shirt, smock or civilian clothes in a firing pose.
Then cut a brass rod long enough to fit under the arm. Cut a round toothpick to fit as a pad for the crutch.

Major Bug Attack!

Maybe modify a pirate figure, if you think you are up to it?

That Speira ACW figure might get me close enough. Plenty of 28mm AWI heads, rifles and powder horns on hand. Thank you Deucey!
