Hopefully we can discuss the topic and not get bogged down in current presidential politics.

US vs Abbott and state war powers:

Mr. Hyman and I investigated the Founding-era meaning of "invasion" and "invaded" to determine if, as three U.S. appeals courts have opined, those terms were limited to formal attacks by foreign military forces. We found they certainly were not. Both 18th century dictionaries and contemporaneous usage supported definitions broad enough to encompass peaceful but unauthorized cross-border incursions that resulted in damage. For example, in the years before the Constitution was written, both Benjamin Franklin and Pennsylvania officials referred to a peaceful but unauthorized wave of immigration into their state as an "invasion."

We also learned that during the Founding era, migrants entering a country illegally were considered, or treated as, "alien enemies." They were not accorded the same rights as "alien friends." It made no difference whether an illegal migrants' country of origin was friendly or hostile.

Doc adds: there is enough judicial disagreement that this question is likely to end up at the Supreme Court level. Of course, what a state such as Texas CAN LEGALLY do, and what it either SHOULD do or politically chooses to do, are separate questions.

Bottom line with 10-20 million illegal aliens being allowed to enter the USA which is sanctioned by the current US top leadership. Those Americans along the border and throughout the USA certainly feel like it is an invasion. Too many Americans have died by the actions of some of the illegal aliens.

Many don't qualify to be here. But yet millions are roaming the US. Using assets i.e. money, food, shelter, medical, etc. that should be used for some Americans that really need it.

And those in the US Gov't that made this happen, those that supported this, etc. will never be punished …
