Guys,

I finished painting these Armies In Miniature Marmon-Herrington Mk.II armored cars models, a type of vehicle that performed yeoman service in the North African desert during WWII…..and thanks to Tom Dye for making these available as part of his growing line of 1/144th scale miniatures.

There were bits of stowage added to each mini, and extra MG attached (from my spares box), and one car has a crewman from the new Trenchworx British Tank Commander POD set (in 1/144th scale).

This troop of armored cars (as an 11th Hussars contingent) will be featured in a Battleaxe scenario coming up in a few weeks – and hope to have some pictures of that action to post on the forum then.

They look great, FlyXwire! I know the Caunter scheme is a hard one to do.

Disco Joe05 Aug 2024 5:33 p.m. PST

That looks great.

Jim, Pete, Joe, Ed, and Kev – thanks much for your kudos.

On that Caunter camo pattern on these, I wondered if maybe it had been inspired by V-for-Victory!

:)))

Just returned from a blitz trip back to Ohio. Dave, those are the Bee's Knees! An absolute success with a very challenging camo scheme. You nailed it!

Thanks for the plug, too!

Caunter camou in 1/35 is challenging, but in 1/144th….!

I do like to see a gent wearing a wedding ring, but it looks as though, like me you have lost weight, or it was a cold day. Mine has not come off in 33 years, even when the odd anaesthetist (anaesthesiologist over the pond) has reminded me of the risk during a GA, or, as a visiting senior surgeon, some ferocious harridan has reminded me of local OR "absolute" rules. Funny how they back down.

I am glad to see how the A/Cs got around behind the Mk111 in the top photo. They should do well from there. Brilliant displays

Tom and DH, thanks for checking out my handiwork……

Speaking of handiwork, I've jammed that knuckle on my ring finger so many times, I couldn't slip my wedding ring off if I tried.

Had a similar problem and ended up having to cut the ring. Felt soooo much better after that. The ring can be repaired as a larger size if done by a competent jeweler. (…and some extra money!) Good luck on that one, Dave. But the M-H do look awesome!
