OK, technically, the Rostov-on-Don submarine was previously damaged in drydock (about a year ago), repaired, and was conducting sea trials when it was hit and sank in harbor.

I believe Russia will win in the end by taking those four provinces…but the cost to the rest of their military makes this feel very pyrrhic. Conscript riflemen are far easier to replace than naval vessels and advanced aircraft.

Cuprum said that the Russian Navy doesn't matter in the slightest… so those who lost their lives at sea… don't matter to anyone in mother Russia…

Russian headline "Submarine visits King Neptune".

BZ to Ukraine.

Midlander6504 Aug 2024 12:13 p.m. PST

Given the damage that it appeared to sustain in the previous missile strike, are we really sure it has been fully repaired and was conducting sea trials rather than being patched together, floated out to clear the dry dock and was being towed off for scrapping?

Whatever, I'm sure Cuprum will be along in a moment to hail this victory of how one Russian submarine has managed to successfully intercept so many Ukrainian missiles.

Hmmm … losing a sub is not good, AFAIK …

I wouldn't want to be the Russian Admiral in charge of the Black Sea Fleet.

I don't see any point in discussing the chatter of propagandists. I would like to receive reliable evidence of the submarine's destruction, if such exists, of course.

Or evidence that the sub is alive and well? That should be easy enough.

Simply? Interesting how? I have to go to the port on the Black Sea and take a photo with today's newspaper? )))

BattlerBritain05 Aug 2024 12:59 a.m. PST

You get actual printed newspapers in Russia!!
Wow!!!

I tried buying one in a local store here recently and they don't sell them anymore. Everything's online now.

Needed something to put under figures whilst painting. Had to buy a roll of brown paper instead. Cost a fortune.

I digress..

There are many elderly people in Russia who prefer timeless paper classics)))

BattlerBritain05 Aug 2024 1:21 a.m. PST

Tell them to not throw them away.

Someone might need them to put under some figures whilst painting :)

It will be difficult to connect those who want to receive the newspaper with those who no longer need it)))
