At the current state of technology, are 3Dprinted 28/32mm resin figures sturdy enough for the wear and tear of the miniature tabletop? |

Yes if printed in the right resin. I use water washable ABS for minis at the moment and am finding that fine, I have also used standard resins with a 10-15% mix of Syriatech Tenacious with success. It's all about the resin being sturdy but flexible for minis, particularly with all the complex poses and sticky out weapons (spears) |

@Cree1978 I do the exact same thing. |

Most of the 3D printed resin miniatures I've purchased have been too brittle, breaking off at the ankles when I dropped most of them, while painting: three feet to linoleum over concrete flooring. The obvious solution is: "Don't DROP them!" Thank you, Captain Obvious. Go back to your closet until we call you forth again. Thank you. I have not purchased any resin 3D printed mini's for a few years now. I don't know if the sellers are now using a mixture of the rubber-like resins to avoid this issue, or not. I have my eyes on several, very large, 3D printed resin Dragon figures (superb!!!), but the thought of accidentally dropping them, or a piece of them, is keeping me from buying them. I would game with them on occasion, and I need to know that I do not need to treat them as if they were made of blown glass… They're expensive ($35USD+ per model), and I do not want them to sit on a shelf, behind glass, to be gently dusted every few years with compressed air. LOL! The Syriatech Tenacious resin is great, but it is expensive, and I am not sure if it is being used by the sellers. I should reach out and ask. Cheers! |

We should be talking a lot about resins. There are lots and lots of kinds out there now. Cree1978, what brand of "ABS-like" are you using? |

I use a mix of Sirayatech Fast and Tenacious 80/20 and that works well for 28mm figures. I have had success with various scales – 1/300, 1/1200 ships and 1/600 aircraft. The problematic bits are the same as with metal – antenna, spears and the like. Some solutions are the same too – use metal rod for spears and flag staffs. |

I printed several 25/28mm figures for my grandson to use in a fantasy football game. Dropping the figures is the norm. The prints were made with a flexible resin. Worked beautifully. He likes the fact that they draw a crowd at tournaments because of their unique model characteristics. Still intact and working well 3 years on. Robert |
