Hi all I recently had another Napoleonic Solo game using Neil Thomas's One-Hour wargames rules (with a couple of added house rules). A fictional battle, set in the 1809 Bohemian theater, between Bavarians (with French allies) and a Austrian-Brunswick army.

full AAR is on my blog here for those interested

Looks like a great game – interesting house rules, especially the variations in troop quality – thanks for posting!

Thanks Frank 👍

Do the rules not have a point where the army breaks? An army appeared to be able to fight more or less to the death.

Cheers,
John

Erzherzog@ No they don't. I should emphasis these are very simple rules. The book they come from is called One-hour wargames the idea being you can play a game in a hour or less. The book contains several (subtly) different rule sets to cover different periods from ancients to WW2 but no ruleset is more than three sides of A5. These rules are very much on the game end of the spectrum and not massively realistic. Having said that I like them because the simplicity and speed means I do actually get to use my little metal and plastic warriors and because I play solo simple rules make things easier.

The other good thing about the rules is they are easy to bolt house rules on to. I've added a few already and I might play around with an army break points house rule as I hadn't considered that until you mentioned it.

Thanks for the reply. The games (I went back and read the first one first) looked great and looked a lot of fun. Did you create the event cards yourself? They look fun too.

Yes the event cards are my own creation you can see them here on my blog
