"This was a two on two game with Jean-Jacques and Graham playing the Conquistadors while myself and Luis played the Aztecs. The details of the war bands are a little foggy now but I will post some photos. We each had two leaders and there was an Aztec priest in the middle of the table protected by Luis's warband. Excellent find, thanks Tango. Great to see Congo games in temporal and spatial venues other than late 19th century Africa. The game is good for skirmish games in rough areas with combatants having asymmetric technology. I have done a number of such games: Great War in Africa (1916) Belgian Congo Free State – Arab War (1893) Pirates in Africa, (1700). Skull Island, (1934) Vikings in Newfoundland, (1000AD) Thames: Romans vs Druids in Britain (64AD) Ganges: British vs Thugees in India (1850) based on Nick Buxey WI article Hudson: Last of the Mohicans (1757) Amazon: Lost City of Z (1925) (in October base on another of Nick's articles) Kenya Land and Freedom Army – Mau Mau vs British (1954) in development On the Congo facebook group there are many other examples. link |

I remember seeing a YouTube video in which an individual, who held himself as a research scientist, suggested that he had found DNA evidence that confirmed that pre-Columbian contacts had been made between sub-Saharan Africans and South Americans. Appropos of almost nothing… |

Very nice looking game. I enjoyed the several Congo games in which I played. Even managed to kill Kong in one without aircraft. |
