Door No. 1, Door No. 2, or Door No. 3?

Man, that's a tough choice.

I've been liking your middle paint schemes lately. It reminds me more of the late-war German camo patterns [often factory-applied].

On the tabletop (I know that's not your objective), it seems that bolder bands of paint actually convey better for viewing, and the finer patterns seem instead to blend together to the eye.

I was painting some modern AFVs in their Cold War schemes lately, and found it interesting that the same evolution in camo patterns occurred from the '70's-developed MERDC scheme (with lots of fine, multi-colored camo striping), to the follow-on '80's+ NATO scheme, which actually comes darn close to Door No. 2 above.

As always Ed, thanks for giving us great minis to ponder over, and enjoy.

The middle scheme is based on a plate I found of a vehicle called a Hummel-Wespe.

The one on the left is very loosely based on a non-colorized color photo.

The one on the right is based on this plate.

*BOOM* – there it is!

Ed, you've been scheming.

Makes me want to get back to my 1/144th stuff now (btw, got some AIM-brand Marmon-Herrington Armored Cars coming)…..

Bravo! Very Nice! Would be nice to see your minis in action on an Eastern Front table.
