Appears to be a new offering? I don't play the Castles & Crusades rules, so I don't for certain.

Since C&C is a clone (to some extent) of D&D, there's a possibility this is a close clone of the original Battlesystem. So I'm intrigued.
Should I be?

Was it the boxed set? I recall being mostly disappointed in that but then it wasn't Battle Syestem 3e.

Perhaps a reprint of this?

Looking closely at my link, it does say "3rd Printing."
So anyone tried this?

Maybe willing to invest in the pdf version, but I'd like to see if here are any reviews of it out there.

I would recommend 2e BattleSystem for AD&D based mass battles miniatures gaming. From 1972 Chainmail, 1976 Swords & Spells, and 1e BattleSystem to 2e BS, the most streamlined system is 2e BS. It is very comprehensive, and great fun to play. It has decent conversion rules, it allows any figures to be used, and it has rules for custom battle platforms. Siege warfare, including mining, is covered. Been a fan since 1993. Cheers!
