I much prefer triplanes to tripe.

Tripe can be quite good.

I am from North West England where it is a local specialty, and I utterly loath it! (but that isn't why I moved to Northumberland!!!)

Thanks for the report, nice photos!
They put tripe in Menudo here in Texas. I've had it in the past and enjoyed it alright. They say it's just the thing for a hangover.

Great write up. Reminded me of the last fight of Voss, with all the tight Fokker turns and SE5as zipping back and forth, overshooting their targets. And of course the biggest target of all survived to fly another day… (unlike Voss).

They have one at the Bradley Air Museum in windsor Locks ct.
I Believe it was built by Cole Palenen's crew from Rienbeck NY.
(Pardon any spelling errors).

I wouldn't even sit in one on a bet. Shock absorbers were glorified rubber bands and the engine would look ok on a riding lawnmower. These guys had stones. Oh, About a decade
ago, a USN carrier pilot flew a DR out of Rheinbeck and ended up in the woods. Not an easy airplane to fly.
