There are some miniatures now available in 35mm (measured to eye level).

Do you use 35mm figures in your gaming?

No, first I've heard of those scale/size. I guess the scale creep continues.

I have noticed that the majority of YouTube figure painting channels are painting figures much larger than 28mm, which makes sense: it is easier to paint high levels of detail on larger figures than smaller figures! Blending, layering, shading, etcetera, are much easier to achieve better results with, on a larger canvas… Cheers!

No. Though I might buy a few 35 mm figures as Goliath types to my 28 mm figures.

I did as a kid in the late 60s early 70s, because that is all I had/knew about. Also house rules, as I had yet to learn there was a miniature gaming hobby.

No. I'm not sure I even have any 35mm miniatures. Maybe some converted Clix figures are 35mm tall.

Never come across it as a size. I actually read it as 1/35 – a popular modelling scale. I don't have those, either.
Who produces '35mm' figures?

forrester20 Jul 2024 1:50 p.m. PST

Im not aware of any range specifically sold as 35mm though some licenced ranges seem to be ossibles.

When did we suddenly come to need a compromise scale between 28mm and 40mm? There should have been notice and public meetings.

In fact, why don't we just hold off the poll for a year or so until we get 37mm or 38mm, which will be larger than existing 40mm anyway.

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART20 Jul 2024 4:38 p.m. PST

That was the Tamiya model's standard scale. I did some stuff
with a limited Samurai run. For Melee style games, it could be done on a small board. For WW2+ forget it.

35mm is too much, and 28mm is too little: 30mm is just right. (With apologies to George Orwell and Goldilocks).

epturner21 Jul 2024 6:28 a.m. PST

Well, my 1/48th scale tanks are about 32-35mm, so I suppose I'll have to answer "yes", with the qualification I use 54mm infantry figures with them.

Superfigs (superhero skirmish) are supposed to be 32s

No. I did not know it existed. I thought it was photography film.
