Trenchworx has started to offer a few WWII digital files as Print On Demand models, available in multiple scales. Perhaps of interest for the 6mm-12mm fans (12mm maybe usable for 10s?), there's tank commander figs available - link Thinking these would be great to pimp out AFVs we might have already collected – or even as new model add-ons! |

This is wonderful! Our soon to be released metal 1/144th (12mm) PxKfw IIIs and Shermies will come with options for open or closed hatches for the TC on the turret. I need to order some samples to test the fit. Hope this UTAH company releases figures for North Africa! Thanks for sharing info on this company, FlyXwire! I would not have known outherwise. |

Tom, great to know some of your new AIM models will come with those hatch options too. |

Just with the metals. (4 PzKfw III and M4, M4A1) Am working to overcome some technical problems with converting the Shermans from plastic to metal masters. It would be less of a problem if I had my old equipment handy. Resorting to a tried and true method from the 1980s. Just need some specialized materials. Am also awaiting more plastic masters that are on the way over. Do them all at once for metal masters. I posted shots of the PzIIIs a while back. I have hopes that Trenchworkz look towards doing N. African figures for 1/144th scale- 12mm size. Wanted to order some TC figs to test in the hatch fits but they did not answer their phone on Thursday. Will keep trying and report back here. |

Tom, fun to hear about some of what's been happening in the back room – keep us posted. |

Showing my ignorance of the process here. Would it be possible to do the tanks in 3d resin with the turret hatch missing and then include a metal hatch in the pack so players had the option? I know Flames of War used to do that with their resin casts and separate hatch (along with a lot of other separate stuff like suspensions in metal). Perhaps too fiddly making sure the proper metal hatch made it in the right blister but thought I would at least ask :) |

Yes, very possible, but not right now. We already have the open hatches for Germans and US Shermans but not yet in production. The owner would have to cut or file away the printed cupola / hatch and replace with the open one. Not practical for modifying the 3D prints at this time. When we release the metals they will come with both options. NEVER hurts to ask your questions, Mark! Thanks to all for your support. |
