Thinking of gaming the naval side of this conflict.
What rules would you recommend?
I'd like something not too complicated, but still with enough detail to "get the feeling" of it. To make a comparison with WW2, between NIMITZ and NAVAL THUNDER.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Shipwreck is good. Very unusual, abstracted system but oh wow, does it work.

Second on Shipwreck. Look for the South Atlantic War book for Harpoon for details.

Shipwreck is also very easy and fast. It does include radar rules, so you do "get the feeling". If you want to do Cold War naval you should certainly try Shipwreck. I wish it covered the post Cold War period better, but technology changed a *lot*. I should get Shipwreck on the table more often…

Try the boardgame Sea Strike. We played it at the time and anticipated some of the results, especially in 'Bomb Alley'.

There's also the Baltic Approaches ship expansion for the Red Storm boardgame that does flights of aircraft.

It has the ships, SAMs and aircraft that should cover Falklands. Well for the Brits at least.

The Dodo modern naval rules (the A4 sized set with Invincible on the cover), we used them a lot for Falklands games in the 1990s. I wrote a modern variant of "General Quarters" for a Falklands campaign game at the NWS, they worked very well. One day I will dust them off and finish them :)

Thanks, going to try Shipwreck then. Does it also incluse some kind of campaign mechanism? A bit like Halsey for Sam Mustafa's Nimitz rules?

you could use Halsey with adjustments for modern radar and Early Warning.

I may need to 'look at this'.
