These guys built a Luchs from the ground up! If I had the money be a great little run about. Not too big so can park on the drive and very cool to ride around in a vehicle like that.

I thought you would be talking about Napoleonic's, the black hole of historical wargaming:)

Maybe senility is finally setting in but I can find no place on the link which tells WHERE the heck they are :)

Panzerfabrik comes up as Grand Junction, Colorado.

My goals were once more modest. I was housed at Fort Meyer and working in the Pentagon, and I wanted a T-34. Relatively cheap and reliable, the distance wasn't so far as to make fuel consumption a problem, and it looked like the perfect vehicle for merging across four lanes of I-95.

Mildbill, I insist that Napoleonics are not inherently expensive--especially now that you can buy old painted 30's for about $1 USD a casting from estates. (If you're interested, I just happen to have 4,000 French, Prussians and Russians available.)
Even without that, there are plenty of cheap plastic 28's, and pretty much anything you'd want in 1/72 for smaller battles. If you have to do Waterloo or Leipzig, 6mm is your solution anyway. The problem is that there's no logical end point. You have to stop on your own, and miniature wargamers have trouble with that.

A friend of mine once started a Napoleonic campaign predicated on a "civil" war among the states of the Confederation of the Rhine. Initially, it seemed pretty feasible. All I needed were the relatively modest armies of Kleve-Berg, Nassau, Hesse-Darmstadt, the Saxon Duchies and a bunch of the munchkin states: Wurzburg, Lippe, Oldenburg, etc.

But, it quickly became apparent that we'd need the armies of any NPC states we defeated and it quickly spiraled out of control.

Just 2 more Bns will finally be enough, what a minute I also need another entire army.

Since it's fictitious, surely you could just decide your 'map boundary' *is* those larger NPC states, on the basis that if the Hessians invaded another minor state, no one would mind, but if they invaded Bavaria, France or Austria would intervene.

Cheers,
John
