I often get asked for 'recommended reading ' for specific armies that fought in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms (or English Civil War in old money).

I fear that those awaiting reading lists for other armies are going to be disappointed. I hope they don't expect anything as 'complete' and as 'in depth' as Essex's Army.

Spoiler alert: those awaiting Royalist Army reading lists are going to be very very underwhelmed.
