Has anyone purchased flags from Maverick Models? I'm considering doing so, but there aren't any side-by-side comparisons that show the difference between "Plain" and "Effect", or "Quality Paper" vs "Self-Adhesive" or "Material".

I buy theirs frequently, they are very good. The effect gives a ripple look to give it some movement, I have never used the elf adhesive from them, I always get the quality. I don't like self adhesive flags. Here is an example of 15mm effect

I forgot to mention, he will size them to fit your flag poles.

Maverick Models sell the best flags ever and the guy is a pleasure to deal with.

I always go for plain effect on quality paper and have never regretted any purchase. I have flags for both 10mm and 15mm figures.

6mm and 10mm flags ordered with no regrets.

I like the effect and self adhesive flags. Outstanding product and service.

Had 15, 20 and 28mm flags, all "effect" latest have been GNW which he resizes so mine look just like the superb League of Augsburg stuff!

Great flags and great service,

Pleasure to work with him. Good products.

I echo all the good experience. He sizes the flags as desired, and I prefer plain effect on quality paper.

I actually just received an envelope in the mail today from Stuart over at Maverick. I have ordered many times. Awesome product and awesome service. He prints the flags to your specified size so they match your standard pole. The flags themselves are very detailed (even my little 6mm Bleeped texts) and the service is top notch. The flags arrived from across the pond in a week.

Seems like pilling on, but I echo the very strong endorsements above. Terrific product and a first-rate vendor. In 15mm scale, I prefer the plain/material option; the 'effect' option I find mutes the decorations a tiny bit, at least for my aging eyes (e.g., regimental numbers or coats of arms and so forth).

But this is a terrific seller and the flags are awesome.

Agreed. Being able to order the flags to fit your figures is a big bonus.

This forum is awesome, thanks so much for all the responses. I'm wanting to fit flags to 18mm Napoleonic miniatures – mainly AB infantry but maybe some Fizzer and Xan as well. Sounds like non-effect paper is generally preferred – I did wonder if the material flags would be a little too weighty for smaller miniatures.

Remember – he will size to suit
