Yesterday we played out a fictional Samurai v Korean scenario set in 1592. Originally scheduled to be played in 2021, that virus and some other issues got in the way and delayed it until yesterday. The game background and set-up can be found at: link The details of the game itself can be found at : link |

Hi korsun0! In a nutshell, During the period of civil war in Japan (Sengoku Jidai; 1467-1615) A chap called (at that time) Toyotomi Hideyoshi had completed the unification of Japan. With nothing else to do (and worried about the Samurai clans starting to fight again) – he organised a mission to conquer China. Needless to say, after beating the Koreans almost to the Chinese border (Shades of the 1950s!!!) – the Ming Chinese invaded in support of Korea and the Japanese were almost overwhelmed. The Korean Navy beat the Japanese fleet and Hideyoshi decided enough was enough and returned to Japan. A year or so later the Japanese invaded again and the same thing happened. Hideyoshi died, and this time the Japanese left for good (until the 20th century anyway!) Here is a good link: link |
