The final game of our Operation Martlet campaign for Chain of Command sees it finish with a bang (several in fact) and ends on a high note. It's been very engaging with more than a few twists and turns. Here's the full AAR of the final game with plenty of pictures: Last Push for St Nicholas Farm

An exciting end to the campaign. Beautifully presented as always.

What a great game! And the AAR was very well presented, too!

If anyone is interested in how I made the destroyed farmhouse here's a link to a blog piece I wrote about scratch building with foamcore Scratchbuilding with Foamcore

Some really fine looking miniatures and terrain going on there, TP.

Genuinely first class stuff. A feast for the eye.

Quite a gripping story of the battle too. Well told and well illustrated.

All in all a great AAR. Thanks for posting it.

SPOILERS AHEAD

I might add, replacing the intact farm house (after it was hit by the AVRE's petard bomb) with the destroyed farm house, as well as replacing the "waterline" Pz IV model in the tank scrape with the full Pz IV model after it reversed out of the scrape, adds read depth to the visual presentation of the game.

VERY well done.

Thank you – it's often the details that make the difference. I want our games to feel as immersive as possible and while there is much suspension of disbelief while playing miniatures I like to feel the game unfolds like a film or TV show. We know it's artificial but we still want it to look 'real'. Thanks for the compliments, much appreciated (and it's always nice to know your efforts are noticed!).

A tough fight concluding a difficult campaign… That defeat at Rauray really unbalanced the British. It all went downhill from there.
But for the reader, this was a really enjoyable read. Well written, with beautiful figures, models and terrain, and excellent photographs. The gold standard of gaming reports. Thanks for sharing.
