Mars Miniatures, a small gift for you (38 years, for me, with IDDM). Praying for an organ for you, ASAP. Wishing you the very best. Thanks for posting. Cheers!

Thanks for the link, awesome table and minis!
And yeah, that looks like a long journey ahead of the heroes.

@ All,
Thanks buddy pals! For sure, the heroes have their work cut out for them.

@Sgt Slag,
Thank you, sir! Truth to tell, I havent registered to get on the donor list just yet. I just finished getting the 2nd surgery to get a fistula. Then if the fistula works good, I get another surgery in a month to get these tubes out of my chest (jugular catheter). Its surgery after surgery, once I am in the clear of all these, then I will think about a transplant. But from what I hear, its not pleasant and yes it will work for a few years, but you will be on a regimen of pills that are brutal. Sorry for all the health talk. Oh most of my companions in dialysis also have the diabetes and having both is harsh. Luckily, I dont have diabetes. I came into kidney failure via the multiple heart troubles route! Huzzah for me? :p

I had a friend: got a kidney, got the Islet Cells (only cure for IDDM)… Died a few years later, due to Cancer. Not wanting a transplant of any kind, myself.

Love the models and the terrain: 3D printed, or molded plaster? Cheers!

@Sgt Slag,
I consider the techs at my dialysis as my advisors. They dont want to sell me on anything. But they tell me I could live a long time on hemodialysis as opposed to home dialysis without getting a transplant. Other options carry risk of infection, cancer, etc. At the moment, I am happy to "strive on" with all my fellow dialysis patients. I might be the youngest of them all, but I have learned to wear the stiff upperlip and stoicism that the oldest there have. We are facing life and death together. Like a real life wargame!

The terrain is from Urbanmatz. Its heavy resin, prepainted.

@Sgt Slag,
Gods be good, you didnt have to do that, buddy! Im touched, I really am. If you are ever in the northern Virginia Falls Church area, please accept my invitation as my guest in my home. We would have food, fellowship, gaming and mirth!

Mars Miniatures: I recently retired from my job in the NHS in England, I was often impressed how so many people put up with so much so well. I salute you Sir! Carry on!

Oh yes, fantastic dungeon!!!

@ Herkybird,
Carry on indeed! I will paint and collect and game as long as Im able! Im american but I do have a Monty Python obsession with their outlook (Life of Brian) or specifically Terry Gilliam's (Brazil). I do look on the bright side of life! (great song!) But I will die, smiling humming singing Aquarela Do Brazil! British humor about taking the absurdity of life and turning it into humor… its something I admire. Warhammer 80s had that Dystopian hopelessness to it. Anyway, Im rambling. I salute your country, Sir, for giving me a stiff upper lip!

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best…

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle – that's the thing.

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin – give the audience a grin
Enjoy it – it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the right side of life…
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
