The painting came out very well on these figures.
A Reaper Bones sphinx? I'll have to go look for that! Thanks!

Thank you very much!

@Grelber, here you are a link to the sphinx I intend to paint:

I may go back and paint the pupils on my Cyclops, thanks to your examples. I love the Red Box fantasy 1/72 scale figures. They paint easily, after spray priming with inexpensive automotive gray, sandable, primer. They have very good details -- surprisingly good details, honestly, for injection molded plastic.

I am sorely tempted by their Centaurs, but I have an army's worth of other Centaur models already! I am not sold on Minotaurs for my games. Otherwise, I would order a few boxes of them, to add another army to my collection…

I am a huge fan of Caesar fantasy figures, as well.

These are very economical figures for building out fantasy armies. Red Box has an excellent line-up to choose from. Cheers!

Hi Sgt Slag, thank you for your comment! The cyclops is large enough to have the pupil sculpted, it makes the painting easier. The Dark Alliance Centaurs are nice, but I experienced difficulties in removing the mold lines, because of the very soft plastic – you need a very sharp knife :)

I've heard that a soldering iron will work better, but I've never tried it yet. I should -- I game with cheap plastic Army Men figures. LOL! I should be practicing on them, so I can improve my Red Box sets! Cheers!

They look great. I can't get to your blog link with my office internet firewall. Where's the Hydra from?

Nice paint job!

Thanks again!

@Wargaming Roadtrips: sorry for the late answer. If not too late, that hydra is a venerable 25mm metal figure from 1984 by Ral Partha :)
