A nice video showing a parade of allied vehicles to commemorate D day 80th anniversary. I enjoyed the quality and quantity

Wow – this is awesome!! Thanks for posting. I cannot believe there are so many running vehicles and the variety to boot.

Thanks.
It was most illuminating standing next to a convoy of moving shermans.

That was great. I wish I'd known – it's not far from me. Interesting that most, if not all, of the crews were in US uniform.

I would agree that many a vehicle carrying UK markings was crewed by those US clad. But I saw many a Guardsman, Royal Artillery or UK Military police also. Let's face it, the US rig was much more modern and still fashionable today.

What a terrific sight that was

Somehow I got on to the Facebook group of the people who organize this and for several weeks before the event I was getting videos and updates on the arrival and staging of the vehicles. Very cool! One interesting thing I learned was that when they do this (I don't know if it's every year of every 5) they keep the route they are going to take a secret to avoid having huge crowds assembling along the route (and potentially blocking the narrow English roads). So if you get lucky you see it and if not you don't.

Nothing to do with D-Day. They've just bought vehicles that can survive all the potholes in the roads.
