I think the "Ambush Scheme" looks terrific, but I was sure it was rare after Normandy. However, sure enough, Trumpeter and Italeri showed the Jagdtiger finished that way and a quick search showed the original;

Otto Carius (pharmacist) served in these type of tanks.
His book is very good.
Tigers in the mud?
He recalls how he told his crews not to turn side on when withdrawing but to reverse instead.
One crew thought better and got blown up by the Russians.
