If you'd like to suggest a TMP contest for the coming year, start a topic on this board and let's get some discussion going.

If there are a large number of proposals, maybe I'll run a poll or something to see what is most popular…

How about 1 page wargames rules, we could vote on a period/scale then give some time for writing and playtesting, then vote on the best. Thoughts?

Bill, I want to sponsor a scenery/diorama competition.. been working on the details a little bit and will stump up some decent prizes…but will add more after the show next weekend.

Limited size max = 200mmx200mmx200mm, no kits or kit-parts, no pre-cast blocks (HA etc), no conversions, scratchbuilt only.

But what's a "page" on the internet? Perhaps a word limit, instead.

There was talk of a sculpting competition.I'm sure a lot of people would like an amateur sculpting competition. Maybe you could have 2 categories/ pro/ novice.

How about a best Battle Report contest – where the gamers post a battle report complete with photos of the players/commanders, the scenario and objectives for both sides, and a turn by turn, blow by blow account of the battle. Would make for some more interesting reading and would allow everyone to show off their stuff.

How about what fits on one side of an A4 piece of paper – at 12 point font – then you don't have to worry about the size of a 'web page'. Standard across the board. BTW 297x210mm for A4 :-)

It could be with pre-assigned font with set size, and page set to Letter or A4… No probs with that…

Or some collecting of different techniques for anything miniatures related, ancient and forgotten painting techniques, how-to's to terrain building, things like that. Like some museums are collecting memoirs of WWII veterans.

And Bill, you could, if you can squeeze in your schedule to make a "Library" of the entries, and up-date it later on..

What about a miniatures board game?

I like Jovian1's suggestion of a Battle Report contest, but could it possibly be expanded to be a battle report on a game put on at a wargames show or convention, thus allowing the possibility of TMP members actually seeing and commenting upon both the game and the accuracy of the report?
