… that defined our childhood "Science fiction films and TV shows have graced us with some amazing spaceships over the last few decades, often becoming as iconic as the characters and stories themselves…"

This is, as noted above, a very unsatisfactory list. How about the classic sharp-nosed ship from "Destination Moon?" This was the epitome of space vessel in the 1950's. Then there is the saucer from "Forbidden Planet." Whoever made this list is just too young. |

How about the Andromeda Ascendant.. |

Bloody heck. Shot long before I was born, but played on TV when I was a child, Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon serials, with Zarkov's tube of toothpaste and Ming's flatirons… Many of the above were after I was an adult, TOS was a high school staple, but I have adult friends who would be yelling as loud as all of us. Possibly a war criminal, but Von Braun explaining multistage rockets on Disney was for me very formative. And if you want to bring up Heighliners… |

"That was a terrible list. Thunderbird 3?" Hey hey now! There's plenty of other crap on that list without ragging on Thunderbird 3! It was definitely part of my childhood growing up. I mean, Max? The Prawn ship? The Heart of Gold? The Mars Attacks saucer? These really defined kids' childhoods??? |

I do not list the various Thunderball ships (and their close British kin) solely because I never saw these shows, except as brief clips. Though even today, I just can't get into the puppets. |

Now Parzival has made a better list. Still could have used a Space 1999 Mk9 Hawk there, Brian Johnson was really good at his craft before Star Wars and after Star Trek defined starships.
