Battle of Kolín was Frederick's first major battlefield defeat. The Battle of Kolín on 18 June 1757 saw 54,000 Austrians under Count von Daun defeat 34,000 Prussians under Frederick the Great during the Third Silesian War. Prussian attempts to turn the Austrian right flank turned into piecemeal frontal attacks and were defeated in five and a half hours of combat. Have you ever noticed in this picture the direction of the sun and shadows compared to that yellow orb in the background? Either Knotted made an error or it is supposed to be the moon? |

Lol! – I think that is artistic license, I never noticed that before! Never mind, for every Kolin, there is a Rossbach and Leuthen! A good life lesson. |
