"A couple more sonae completed, along with a command stand. These are the Azai clan, along with a command stand for Azai Nagamasa. This is following the plan of just doing some small groups of units that aren't very distinctive, so they can be used as ‘generic' units at a push. The Azai kamon is rather distinctive, but only if you look very closely in 6mm. I might do some Asakura next. The uma-jirushi is conjectural, based on designs on the Azai family tombs. It's the last character in the name ‘Azai.'"

I have the complete heraldry of Asai Nagamasa. The uma jirushi of the Inoji in the Azai name is correct. The difference in Japanese heraldry books is that the character is simplified, like the 'pound' symbol on your cell phone. Another nobori which appears in Nagamasa's honjin is a white nobori with ONE kikkou ni hanabishi (flower diamond in a turtle shell), in contrast to the Asai's well known Mitsumori Kikkou ni Hanabishi (flower diamond in THREE turtle shell).
