It's been a busy month for me.
I've switched to alternating months.
One month I do figures. That's it. Just figures.
The next month I do terrain, scenics, and "non-people" figures, (animals, livestock, furniture, scatter items, etc).

This month it is the non figures month, so I am working hard on terrain, scenics, animals, and furniture/scatter.

So far this month, I have finished:
* Four buildings: 2 barns, 2 thatched roof huts. Both huts are scratchbuilds.

* Two scratch-built piers.

* Six pigs

* Nineteen pieces of furniture/scatter.

Currently working on "Evil Snow White", and then back to the Tabletop World Coaching Inn.
Plus doing a gibbets, and flocks of chickens and geese. I am also working slowly on the fishing boat I got at Little Wars this past April.

With the super hot heat index here this coming week, I expect more time at the painting table.

What's your progress for June so far?

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP16 Jun 2024 2:13 p.m. PST

I'd have to keep count. Seriously. Current project is about 100 28mm, mostly fantasy and SF. Project before that was about 50 30mm British Napoleonic gunners with guns and limbers, and project before that was 2mm WWII--Western Desert and 1944 ETO, with terrain for the ETO. But I certainly couldn't tell you where I stood on 30 May.

What's June done for me?

Getting prepared for putting on 4 games at Historicon next month.

One is theme game for "Hollywood to Historicon" that is becoming time consuming.

Ran games at Barracks Battles @ DieCon 2024, organized events for the local group, painting terrain for Three Musketeers, basing miniatures, working on our group's newsletter and meeting with a local museum next week regarding an event for our group in November.

"What's June done for me?"

Well since you live in the Hoosier state, it's about to give you a week of 100+ on the heat index..
That's what June is doing for you…

I was able to prime two expansion sets worth of HeroQuest figures… and in June in the South, that's practically a miraculous event.

I also wrote up a bunch of new spells for Classic D&D (Aka B/X/ECMI/RC D&D), as well as converted some AD&D spells into workable Classic approximations. That falls under "rules tinkering."

I shall have to finish up making the figures (fragments) for my Awful Green Things spaceship game. I also have some 15mm Napoleonic's to paint and mount as well as some 20mm Vietnam/modern figures.

I painted up a bunch of bases.

+1 KimRYoung. But I'm on putting on 3 games. Finishing a commission for some Battle of the Bulge US and German figures for a friend.

30YW Finnish horse and some command stands.

Almost nothing. This whole year I've not had a lot of time due to family commitments, and in the rest of the time have been very lax at painting. Still try to get to the club most weeks though.

Ran a Kursk game, played a strategic game about a potential Russian invasion of the Baltic States, made some more flight stands, painted up some truck passengers, built a WW2 German Field Kitchen.

I've mainly been prepping for a big operational WW2 game on Friday with a dozen players. Always a lot of planning, admin and coordination for something like that. I had to make some extra terrain and paint up a few more bits and pieces.

Well, we held OttoCon this past weekend in Carlisle, PA.

Managed to test drive one of my Historicon games, so I see where I need to tweak some things. Played in a HoTT game set in Barsoom. Also played in a really fun Age of Sail game.

For figures, I've gotten quite a few 54mm figures done for my Historicon game, along with several 1/48th scale tanks.

So, June is shaping up to be a good month for wargames.

Sadly nothing

Finished some Samurai figures – still lots to do, managed to get some stuff done round the house and garden (when it wasn't too wet) – and some tiling in the bathroom.

I have actually started painting again. So not nothing for once!

Jacobites, the tartan spray can has been really helpful.

Nothing.

Nothing.

I'm suffering from an excess of Real Life™ and the resulting burn out. The only thing I've managed to accomplish in the last 4 weeks is piling my craft desk higher with crafting materiel. Actually sitting down makin' stuff seems to be out of scope at present.

Sergeant Paper17 Jun 2024 7:24 p.m. PST

Sweet FA… I've barely managed to play games, and had no time at all for making or painting.

KSmyth17 Jun 2024 9:03 p.m. PST

Finished 32 28mm Moros for One Hour Skirmish War Games. That wraps them up and I am about to start on the Americans for the project. I also finished a 1/1200 IJN Sendai cruiser. Good month so far, even allowing for most of a week away for vacation.

My son and his wife live upstairs. We've really enjoyed having them home. However, two years ago I blew out my knee and have a difficult time climbing the stairs to my game/hobby room. So they had some friends over and moved my hobby room downstairs into an unused bedroom and completely outfitted it for me including a new TV that hangs on the wall. It has literally opened my life up again. That being said yesterday I started on my first model since my injury. I'm pretty happy.

Since June is about halfway over, "My" accomplishments are for the previous 30 days. Released 30+ 1/144th scale vehicles for WWII North African campaigns with another 6 on the way for release in June.

Am very pleased with the level of detail on the 3D prints. Because I have not yet purchased sponsored dealer's advertising from Bill, I won't plug anything more till I do, but the question was asked what progress has been accomplished in June- samples have been painted and weathered. Fun stuff for me!

I finished some GHQ Panzer IIs earlier this month. I am adding to my Afrika Korps a little bit at a time. I added 9 completed Panzer IIs in May and June.

I am currently working on 6 Panzer IIIs for 3rd Kompanie.

Hi, Cap'n Pete! Your DAK looks awesome, as always. They have easily become THE standard for us all to strive for. By doing a few at a time the enjoyment will last longer. Over time, the collection on it's own becomes a great source of achievement on it's own. (But you already discovered that, I am sure!)

One of the best parts of this hobby is from the satisfaction of personal accomplishment. Sharing your efforts with others serves as motivation for others that proves they, too, can accomplish standard because someone else has shown it can be achieved.

Like I started this post with, sharing your efforts (like many others) serves to motivate others to try as it leaves a positive image in the mind's eye, for all to strive for.

Dye4minis +2 on the statement of enjoyment in sharing. I wanted to see what others were doing for their pleasure and enjoyment, while sharing mine, here and on my blog…

Fair enough, Murph. Well, it overlaps months, but I'm about done with the next batch of 30mm CLS Napoleonics started by one friend and purchased from his estate by another. This batch was 64 cavalry, 48 infantry 15 guns, 5 limbers and about 60 gun crew. The spectrum ran from "needs grassed and matted" to "raw metal." They'll be matted in the morning, and handed back to the owner ready to game on Friday, and he'll hand me the next batch. Best guess is the estate included over 3,000 castings not ready for the tabletop, so it's going to take a bit. (Sadly, the meeting will be at the funeral of another old CLS player.)

And I'd better get back to my SF castings--6 for me, 26 for the flea market.

Captain Pete21 Jun 2024 6:43 p.m. PST

Thank you very much, Dye4minis! While I have made great progress on this and other projects over the years, I never have felt I am really done as there is always – one more thing. Actually much more than that.

I am happy to try to inspire others but am also inspired by the work of others both here and elsewhere.
