ok "Bretteville L'Orgueilleuse" out of the Rapid fire scenario book on normandy. I finaly got some 1\72 models, the inf need bases decorating yet, and I dont have the correct german tanks, not got a few things right yet but I thought I would give the scenario a playthrough. after a quick play, I discovered the panthers had class 1 guns and the canadians ATG were class 3, so the Panthers were hitting quite often, the infantry supprisingly are the real problem for the germans. I will go again see how it works out Rapid Fire is good, and cheap the rules are £5.00 GBP New now I found the rules allowed 1/72 models, so I got some models, are these classed as toy wargaming or historical? Im trying to be historical, but Im not giving up 1/72 so am I now a toy gamer ? |

One could argue they are all toys, or historical miniatures just the same |

The question is really, "do you care what other people think?" If they are 1/72nd scale and others refer to them as toy soldiers that is their opinion. What you believe is all that matters. |

They are no more toys because they are plastic and 172nd than a 25mm Metal figure representing the same thing is a toy. They either are both toys or both not toys. I don't think it really matters Which it is. |

Generally speaking, traditional toy soldiers are 54mm, often pre-painted in basic paint schemes. I don't consider my 1:72 figures to be traditional or toy soldiers, personally. Just wargaming figures. |

You can post where you like, but most people around here consider "traditional" toy soldiers to be 40-54 mm and generally prepainted. All miniature soldiers are toys in my opinion. |

very nice looking set up. War-game figures. Ditto to Editor in Chief Bill on what I think of as Traditional Toy Soldiers, but larger scales as well. Maybe even artistic 30mm figures such as those by Ted Suren. |

"…1/72… are these classed as toy wargaming or historical? Im trying to be historical, …" Most makers of 1/72 try to make them historical. This site link has pretty fair reviews of whatever 1/72 you may be looking for… ;-) |

1/72 is very common, orob best historical size |

had to peel back battlefield, as units were getting blocked, its an easy mistake to make, to over model a wargame |
