Has anyone seen this 4 volume series, published I think in 2019? Would be interested to know what members think of the series, which looks very interesting.

I have them.
There's lots of good information in them, including OOBs and uniforms BUT the translation into English is clunky at best.
If you have more specific questions let me know.

BillyNM – they appear to offer around the same number of pages as Osprey titles, but at twice the price! Do you think thy are worth double the cost? As I say, they do look interesting but the price for all four volumes will certainly add up.

I'm afraid the answer is "it depends" on what you want from them. Unlike Ospreys they are focused on a narrative of the campaign with uniform information thrown in the form of diagrammatic depictions of uniforms rather than artistic representation.
I was primarily interested in the campaigns as they get little coverage owing to Napoleon not being involved. Unfortunately the translation into English is poor and it is a hard read. I have since acquired the newly translated Clausewitz commentaries on the campaign which are good but don't have uniform or OOB information so complement the Acerbi books quite nicely. That said, it's a very expensive way of getting the information.

Sometimes you have to find books that compliment other titles that might cover various aspects of campaigns. I have Christopher Duffy's Eagles Over the Alps but I did not know about the Clausewitz title?

I guess I will have to seriously consider if the cost is worth a 'hard' read.

Many thanks for info. Much appreciated.

Enrico Acerbi published a host of material on "The 1799 Campaign in Italy" on the Napoleon series Forum at link
You will need to go in through this first page to drill down to other entries via the dropdown menu as it appears impossible to drill down to other entries from other pages.

It is certainly very good material.

I agree, the material is good, it's just the translation that lets it down. Unfortunately the Clausewitz books aren't cheap either, if you weren't aware of them (2 vol.s) here's some links (hopefully you can find them cheaper elsewhere):

Very interesting books but not so very interesting prices? On the bright side, the high cost is persuading me not to increase my unread mountain of titles, well, not just yet anyway. LOL

The Clausewitz volumes are available as more affordable ebook editions in the US, but unfortunately not yet in the UK, I believe. Still, I hope that helps someone!
