Some scattered thoughts on a potential Pearl Harbor project: link |

I have seen a few great looking Pearl Harbor games, but they are kind of a one trick pony. If it is a traveling convention game, it may be worth the expense. People also tend to care less about cost if it is a passion project. What would it cost for Office Depot to print and laminate the map?

Once at Little Wars there was a guy who put on a Pearl Harbor game. Really nice stuff. No one signed up to play. Felt really bad for the guy. |

I've not looked into local print shops because the original map does not have the hex grids, and Deep Cut can add them to the mat. Not worried about players because the local guys would play, but the one trick pony aspect concerns me. svsavory pointed out that I could use it for other harbor games, or fjords in Norway. Hmmm, I just realized that it would work for my Balls of Fire scenario: link |

I know you are not keen on stand-in paint jobs, but some version of the P 36 was used by the Dutch in the East Indies, and a fair number of them went down to the Canal Zone if you want some what-if action in Panama. |

Canal Zone, China, Dutch, Finns, French…crazy that the Mohawk was across the globe. But since I am not buying more planes for this project, I am going have them done up for Pearl! I'll make certain to run this scenario a few times each year so as to get some use out of the planes and the mat. |
