Can anyone tell me if the US regulars in summer dress have linen coats with tails, or short linen jackets with no tails? There are no good pictures on their website.

Are you discussing WAA-06 in the Old Glory catalog? I don't have any of those, but I do have their WAA-04 (advancing in leather shako). These figures have a very short tailed coat, which is easily removed with a metal file if you want to depict a jacket without tails. This is what I did for my Scott's brigade regiments.

Btw, these figures look great, and are very durable (no thin bayonets that snap off right out of the bag). They also mix pretty well with my Knuckleduster figures (now sold as 'Wee Wolf' Miniatures).
