You were asked – TMP link

So have you ever redone a project because newer better figures came out? Phasing out the old and bringing in the new?

I have a friend who redid his entire Russian Flames of War army in plastic. And sold off the older metal figures. In my case, I am rebuilding my Ottoman Napoleonic Army, because several newer ranges are out now in 28mm.

Unfortunately, I have redone many projects, at least one 4 times.

I've redone my Vikings, shifting from Ral Partha and Citadel small 25 mm figures to Foundry/Gripping Beast/Old Glory Vikings at 28-30 mm.
I sold off about half the painted figures at the start, as a sort of burning bridges behind me philosophy, then sold off the rest as I bought and painted new figures.
This year, I noticed somebody doing World War II armies for less well documented countries that looked very nice, and wondered if they would get around to WWII Greeks. Would I want to replace some/all/none of my existing Greek army?

Whole projects, mostly no. As I said I did replace my ACW from 1/72 plastics to 22mm metals.

Individual figures are another matter. Currently, on the painting table, are a bunch of medieval figure (both new and getting updated). At least three that were to be updated just got tossed in to the stripper.

Yes, replaced all my old Zulu war 20mm with 28mm, same with Napoleonics and Ancients. Sold off all the old stuff

I am starting to redo my 15mm ACW Union figures. I am replacing some of my 28mm AWI with Perry and Foundry figures.

Redone the scenario campaign or the like, possibly even the buildings at a smaller scale, re-do the figures NEVER life is too short.

Sold off my 40k Space Marines to help finance my wedding. Bought the lot in metal for my 20th wedding anniversary (still have not painted them maybe this year?).
