Ooh nice – Wargames Atlantic recently got their claws into me – but I really don't need another project. |

Anton Ryzbak That looks really good. I have zero interest in the Quar wars, but I'm going to go read your blog post anyway, because dangitall! you make nice looking terrain projects. In particular I want to know how you did the shell holes. Do tell! |

Yellow Admiral, Thanks for the kind words. As with most of my terrain projects I chronicled the process under the "Adventures in Blueboard and Foamcore" tab on my blog. This is a direct link to the post on making shell-holes link I don't think that you can currently buy the tool that I used to hot-cut the foam, I got it a a garage sale and it had a 1950's vibe to it; heavy Bakelite handle, solid bronze blocks as the attachment points etc. A troll through Amazon would likely find a similar bit of kit however. In retrospect the Gorilla Glue is the better method but spread the glue first and then spritz with a fine spray of water for quicker and more complete expansion. |
