The next batch of vehicles for the 21st Pz Div project have got their base coats, the Pz IIIL will become the 1st Pz Battalion commanders tank, the Sdkfz 10/4s will go to Flak battalion 305, and the half tracks will go to the 1st Battalion, PzGren Regt 125, I'll be brush painting their camo.

Yes, I have some of those printed for when I get to them.

May I ask whether the experts think there were any mortar-armed U304s in either 125 or 192 PzGr?

These would be normal according to a standard Company ToE. I think we can agree that 21PD was not a normal formation, and that mortars were absent from the Companies. But I seem to recall reading (possibly from v. Luck) that his battalions had a small 81mm mortar detachment, I think of 3 tubes.

Furthermore, I wonder if these were French Brandt weapons rather than standard German manufacture.

They did have , S307(f) Reihenwerfer half-track .

Thank you, mon colonel, and that's a nice picture of a Somua Reihenwerfer.

Buy I was actually asking about single-tube weapons mounted on Unic 304s. We know these were produced, but they do not appear among the kit holdings represented in the period organisation tables shown from the time. However, in the back of one of these there is apparently of further holdings of weapons of non-German origin.

See link

Still racking my brains as to which source (Luck? Hoeller?) refers to a small unit of 3-4 single-tube vehicles in the Battalions, even tho' this is absent from the period ToEs generally seen.

I haven't seen a list with the single tube, if you find it, I would love to see it, I'd happily include them.
