Idris Elba narrates a new documentary on black troops in WW2, with an emphasis on D-day. The Book 'Spearheading D-day' first mentioned these was the first black unit to land in France.

Unfortunately, it seems they may have totally ignored the 'Negro Volunteer Infantry' (aka the 5th platoons) which played a much more important role in the ETO.
