It can't be random or out for a jolly

Maybe someone noticed what happened to the Bonhomme Richard, and thought, hmmmm…….

So are these people legal or illegal ?

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP01 Jun 2024 7:40 a.m. PST

Legion, some legal as in green cards, tourists or student visas. Some illegal. Not sure how closely the military is allowed to investigate currently.

That is what I thought … But the point is this shouldn't happen. Open borders and weak immigration laws, liberal progressive, leadership, etc. IRRC, trying to get on a closed post or base would end you up in jail. Or at least get your ^%*($# kicked by the MPs.

I'm not saying this is what is going on, but one must be vigilant and always suspicious… which does not seem to be the case currently.

Now say I was a country that wanted to be the number one power in the world and I did not care how I achieved it. How could I use the lax laws and vigilance of my opponent to accomplish it?

Well one way would be to buy up land in that country and have a lot of it close to military installations, for multiple purposes… opps! They are doing that already.

Have thousands of my military age men and women infiltrate their wide open borders. To do, who knows what. Especially if little to no vetting is being done….. OPPs! They are already doing that.

Possibly introduce destruction insects and diseases into that country. 🤔 Well the Emerald Ash Bore came from China. The Asian longhorned beetle came from that area. The Spotted lanternfly, another destructive arrival from China.
Bird flu, that we are hearing so much about recently.. Oh China again. Who can forget Covid from Chinese gain of function research. Above is just a very destructive and deadly small list.

I might use these properties to help drug cartels spread fentanyl and other drugs, throughout the country. OPPs! Again already happening.

Intentional or not it's all happening and I'm sure you can use your imaginations to come up with more possibilities.

Huge numbers of Chinese illegal aliens crossing our borders only could make it easier for them to create a "5th Column", inserting spies, etc.

As well as many Chinese here legally can still buy lands near US installations, etc. Why ?

And the PRC/CCP giving/selling drugs to the cartels. That end up kill thousands in the US. Seems that does not bother our elected & appointed leaders.

Some of our US leaders have strong ties to China … that alone should be investigated. Some in our gov't, etc. would call that racist, xenophobic, etc. Again, this has 0 to do with that. But it does have to do with national security. Which seems to also be a low priority with our leaders.

The USNI reported this week that the Marines are starting to train for base incursions of various types, the point being that "Home" is not safe anymore.

Gray Bear01 Jun 2024 10:14 a.m. PST

This is all intentional. I wish it was just based on stupid.

Martyn K01 Jun 2024 11:10 a.m. PST

"Two or three times a week we are stopping these people at the gate". With a "cover story that they want to see the ships".
When investigated these people have passports and other documents.

I am not convinced the major threat to security is people legally in the country, walking up to the gate asking to see the ships. This type of action is not what I would classify as attempting to breach the base.

Now I am sure that there is spying going on. I also suspect that the US is spying on foreign naval bases. I just don't think that this story is as big a deal as people want it to be.

Martyn, these are not the first. They are happening more often, but are not being covered. The web and Fox are the best sites, but Fox has been lax lately.

This incident was one of the worst so far. I think you can figure out why this might not be covered. The story below started the current round of stories. Even the base covered it up for 2 weeks.

both in US illegally
No surprise with how they are vetted. But actually, it really does not matter, they broke the law.

TimePortal01 Jun 2024 9:08 p.m. PST

I cited this before. So sorry to those who remember the old posting. Back in 1981, I was assigned to Patrick AFB for a four month school. So upon in-processing , they informed us that the Cocoa Beech to Cape Canaveral had an estimated 10 to 20,000 enemy spies there. Later events with Spy Planes landing at the base proved their point.
Penetration of bases in any branch is not hard at all. Especially when major highways run through or along the base. In 1992, as part of the EMA, I inspected chemical weapon storage facilities in Washington state. It an easy place to break into.

My first thought was:
Excuse me sir, can you direct me to the naval base in Alameda? It's where they keep the nuclear wessels.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP02 Jun 2024 3:19 a.m. PST

We never do learn anything about the source's background for this NYP story, just his own claim of expertise and that there is a leak at the base. I have been through "this never happened" situations too, but I don't claim to know what happened here. Generally, I suspect they would not want to broadcast it for world wide consumption for a number of reasons, including assessment and intel gathering. Not telling the public does not automatically mean conspiracy.

Spies coming to the gate with a cover story… It could be that even Chinese tourists don't get to leave China without a spy assignment. Some of the spies doing this don't seem very clever. The Chinese are obsessed with spying. And the danger is real. I would like to know way more about what we are doing about it for my peace of mind. But you cannot tell politicians or their proxies in the media very much…they just use it to go after opponents and then everybody knows. This can be a good thing, or not good at all. IMO.

We have no actual data on these apprehensions. Just anecdotes, guys who know guys, etc. we can only count the number of media reports. Secret plots and cover ups are real possibilities, but IMO assuming the worst is not always good procedure. Let the evidence talk and stay out of the media. I still trust.

But I would feel a lot better if there was a strong organized security system on the southern border.

Checkov ?

Spies coming to the gate
The open border has made it easier for spies, terrorists, etc. to get into the US. This has been going on forever, before, during and even after the Cold War. Russia, China, etc. had spies/operatives/sleeper cells, "students", etc. in the US then and more so now. As again the open border makes it that much easier. And spy tech has certainly evolved.

But I would feel a lot better if there was a strong organized security system on the southern border.
The overwhelming majority of Americans feel that way. Only very wealthy, very powerful individuals/groups, etc. are supporting this for their own agenda, etc. Which again most Americans don't support. And of course, there are a few Americans who support this as the see unicorns, rainbows, etc. everywhere. They are as dangerous as the rich and powerful who support open borders.

The US could shut down the open border in a very short amount of time. And start rounding up illegal aliens and deporting them. Which would be easier said than done. However, it should be done. But the US leaders do not have the will. As many of those "leaders" received $ from the open border's wealthy for their campaigns, etc. Old news really …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP02 Jun 2024 11:04 a.m. PST

Yes, as we know. The border crisis is only one part of the spy game. The northern border has been the preferred entry for the pro spies for years based on the number we catch there, per the FBI, I think. The number of students from overseas in college here is huge.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP02 Jun 2024 5:46 p.m. PST

With 35,000 Chinese illegal aliens that have crossed the border plus all the "students" their gov't pays US universities to school. Looks like the PRC/CCP is on the way to executing their plan.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP03 Jun 2024 5:07 a.m. PST

They have done this for a long time. I think it is a major part of the political culture there. Very cutthroat. The generals in Chinese army are appointed by Xi for loyalty first. Always a bad sign.but who knows how qualified they are to run the military?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP03 Jun 2024 7:50 a.m. PST

Like the Russians you can't trust the CCP as far as you can throw them … The CCP is in it for the long game. They have agents that are US citizens that work for NASA, big industries, etc., etc. and after 20 years disappear with TS information. They end up back in China …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP03 Jun 2024 9:37 a.m. PST

Yes, we have caught them working in defense industries here. Spying is like an obsession with them. I am convinced there is no such thing as a tourist from there – the leadership could be forcing everybody to look for stuff.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP03 Jun 2024 7:08 p.m. PST

Yes, but today if the US started to shut down on Chinese tourists, students, etc. coming to the USA. Some in our Gov't, universities, etc., would scream racism, xenophobia, etc., etc.
