Gents,

Not too unlike the Perry Bros.' Travel Battle concept, and using a square gridded system, like Mark Bachkouse's Strength & Honour ancients rules available thru Reisswitz Press, the Scipio – game within a game [the box] – has been previewed now by Warlord Games -

I'd buy this as a cheaper standalone, if that were possible (looks like it could even be played with all the S&H 2mm units bases as alternative miniatures – so therefore, probably why it's bundled in 'the box').

Thanks for the info. I would buy it if stand alone, also. Looks like my kind of game; simple with nice figs.

Interesting how they are pushing the plastic figure battle packs. If you like grid based games you should just get a copy of Lost battles and use your own figures.

Mine too Craig! :)

PF, matter of fact I have Lost Battles – still pristine in its box from my pre-order long ago (need to think about this).

Nice picture report on the Scipio lite-game -

For a lot of people (talkin' new gamers here – and for some vets too), this Scipio-style experience could be one of those hobby 'endgames'.

That is, these lite-style games represent as far as many would care to go into a particular era – with little-to-no painting, little-to-no extra terrain adding……

Not for me. Maybe it will give people something to do with all those unpainted units of Epic figures that are stacking up all over the country.
