I have recently become interested in firearm development pre-flintlock, and culled the following dates of introduction fro Wikipedia. Not looking for first appeared necessarily, but when they became military firearms. Anyway, I'd appreciate some comments and background on the subject.
Hand Cannon 1327
(Serpentine) Matchlock 1411
Matchlock 1465
Wheellock 1500
Snaplock 1517
Snaphaunce 1550
Miquelet 1567
doglock 1620
Flintlock 1630
