Does anyone have a good map or diagram that shows the layout of Placenoit? Specifically the church and its directional orientation in the village. I am trying to recreate the village for GdA2 with three 6"x6" squares. One holding the church and the two holding buildings.

Thank you in advance.

Not a map but this should help.

I would recommend that site as the best possible current source of info on Plancenoit. There are many more pages than the one linked and the whole thing is very authoritative.

Thanks, very helpful. So the church essentially runs east west with the steeple on the eastern face.

Surely the other way around such that the altar is at the eastern end opposite the steeple and main entrance. That way the altar is viewed, and worshippers face, towards Jerusalem, Christian churches are usually aligned this way, and probably slightly ESE rather due East.

I was there a year ago and would say that the steeple was on the western side.

Indeed it is, as in the original church which this replaced.

James research is an excellent reference source and his diorama, based on Silbornes excellent models is the go to model.

Best wishes,

Chris
