Please see the following battle reports for the major battles of the '45, using Baccus 6mm figures and the rules by Stephen Simpson published back in Wargames Illustrated 134:

Very sharp looking! Bonnie Prince Charlie was sent scurrying back to Continental Europe again!

I have 6mm jacobites as well, although mine are still unpainted. It seems we share many of the same interests in wargaming genre.

Thanks! I would really love to do some of these as campaigns, but I am still thinking about the best way to stage them.

For myself, I can't see doing this in such a small scale. There's nothing to paint. I'd just as soon have a boardgame with cardboard chits as minis that are hardly less higher. For me, the visual spectacle on the tabletop and the joy of painting the wee men is more than half the "battle."

PS: No excuse for Charlie not winning this battle! Cope was supremely outmaneuvered, no artillery, his raw units surprised -- by rights should be a rout for the bold Highland men!

Entirely true. And that is the most likely outcome…indeed, it is reasonably possible for the entire Government Army to rout without firing a single volley! But since each Government unit has a chance to hold on, it follows that in some refights almost all of the Government army will stand firm.

I discovered that I have WI134 so have the rules.
I think I will be giving this a try.

Good luck, hope it goes well. One of the comments on the blog post states that Stephen Simpson's rules were the genesis for the first versions of Twilight of the Sun King, interestingly enough.
